Sohail's story... Supporting the workers
Sohail used to work for a large jean corporation. We knew the conditions at larger factories were bad, but we didn't actually know how bad... Do you? Read more to find out.

When Sohail joined us we we're amazed of his incredible ability in jean crafting, but before he started working for us he told us about the conditions of working in the factory. The workers would spend all day working with harmful chemicals, that would be sometimes dangerous to work with. He would inhale large amounts of fumes and gasses, and he would often come home with cuts and scratches from the machines. He told us he would often come home disoriented, with a massive headache and a painful cough.

He would earn about £70 a week, he wasn't paid for any holiday hours he took, and the managers of the factory
took 99% of the profits made.
Sohail lived in a tiny apartment, with no heating, no hot water and often his electricity would go out if he didn't
pay his bills on time. His bed was a mattress on the floor, and his room was filthy and cold.
He would work 6am - 10pm Monday to Friday, with a 30 minute break on each shift.
He now works for us and we make it a priority that we help people like Sohail, and give them a better life. Our employees are happy, and treated in the right way.
Support us, so we can support these people.
